Wicklow Hurlers took on Down last Sunday. Both counties were coming off the back of wins and were anxious to keep up their winning streak. Down started the game the stronger and dominated the game for the first half. Wicklow forwards struggled with the Down backs and found it hard to get any return for the possession they had. The half time score was Wicklow 0-04 Down 0-13.
Wicklow upped their performance in the second half and clawed back the lead to three points and had two chances of goal. Down got a goal, followed by a couple of points and pulled away at the end of the second half. The game ended on a scoreline of Wicklow 0-15 Down 1-23.
