Amhrán na bhFiann Workshop
A New Year has arrived and the GAA this week awakened from its short Christmas slumber which means it won’t be long until supporters from all over the county and country descend on Echelon Park Aughrim once again.
We take great pride in hosting games in Aughrim. A major part of game day in Aughrim is the singing of Amhrán na bhFiann before the game. We have been very lucky to have a great variety of talented people performing our national song over the years, and indeed this has been remarked upon by GAA hierarchy.
Now at the dawn of a new year, we are looking to give more people an opportunity to have the privilege of singing our national anthem on game day in Aughrim. To that end, we have organised an Amhrán na bhFiann Workshop. This Workshop will take place on Wednesday 18th of January in Echelon Park Aughrim at 7:30pm.
We are asking each club to send a member or members (male or female) to the Workshop. The member should be at least 13 years old (I.e.: be of secondary school-going age at least). The evening will consist of a 30-minute workshop and then an opportunity for each attendee to sing a bit of Amhrán na bhFiann at the end.
Please fill out the attached form with the details of your attending club member. Please have the form returned by Monday the 16th of January. I have also attached the words to Amhrán na bhFiann.
