Wolfe Tones 0-19 Avondale 1-11
Avondale faded in the final quarter and the long journey to Longford for an 8-30 start is sure to have played a part in this. Short of man of the match in the final Ray Nolan it was a tough ask for Emmet Sullivans men away from home.
A goal by captain Paul Gahan kept them in touch and Ross Ward continued his good form from last week knocking over some good points, Eanna Owens another youngster also found the range.
Niall Heffernan and Eamonn Kearns were sound from placed balls but Wolfe Tones benefitted massively from their placed balls with no less than 0-13 coming from frees and 65’s. Avondale go out but they will be a welcome addition to senior ranks in 2019 in Wicklow.
