Championship Glory for Kilcoole and Eire Óg in Thrilling Finals.

Kilcoole finally achieved what they had failed to do the past two years and taken the Tutty Cup down to the Goosebank. Their neighbours Eire ÓG also had a day to remember.

A 0-14 to 0-13 win over a brave and battling Valleymount team in the Boom & Platform Junior A final at a wet Joule Park today made up for the heartbreak in 2016 and 2017. Lining out without the injured Ronan Keddy the Kilcoole men dominated early with Danny Kavanagh on song from placed balls and play.

Valleymount finished the half strongly and the teams went in level at 0-8 each. They edged ahead in the second half and enjoyed a lead all through but Valleymount kept coming back and came agonisingly close to levelling at the death. A bid well done to manager Ciaran Dutton and his team.

Eire Óg pipped Baltinglass in the Renault minor football final in Pearses Park winning 5-9 to 2-14 with goals in injury time the order of the day here. Baltinglass started best and led 1-4 to no score early on but Eire Óg were only behind 1-7 top 1-5 at the break. A thrilling ending meant the game could have went either way but Eire Óg were just a bit better on the day. A brilliant advertisement of all that is good in Wicklow GAA.
