Sunshine at 3rd/4th Class Girls Football Blitz
The 3rd and 4th Class Girls Allianz Football Participation Day survived the thunder and lightning storms last week and took place last Thursday in Bray Emmets GAA club. Twenty teams from eleven different schools took part in the Participation Day with each team getting to play three matches. The schools were: Roundwood NS, Kilcoole, St Brigid’s, Gaelscoil na gCloch Liath, Gaelscoil Uí Chéadaigh, Newtownmountkennedy PS, St Laurence’s, St Peter’s, Greystones ETNS, Greystones CNS and Kilmacanogue. A wonderful display of skills, team work and score-taking were on show for the day. A lovely atmosphere was present throughout the day creating a very enjoyable experience for the girls. Some 6th class students who have recently completed their Young Whistlers course were referees for the Blitz – well done to them on their debut of refereeing! Thank you to all schools for their participation and to the Allianz Cumann na mBunscol officers for organising the games on the day.
