Gaelic Games Covid Update – Close Contacts

A chara,

Below is some important information on the status of Close Contacts who have been vaccinated:

Clubs in the 26 Counties

The latest information on what to do as a Close Contact if you have been fully vaccinated in the 26 Counties is available here.

In essence, adults and children over the age of 13 who are not displaying symptoms and who are designated as a close contact of a positive case DO NOT need to restrict their movements or be tested for Covid-19 if it is more than:

7 days after your 2nd Pfizer-BioNTech dose
14 days after your 2nd Moderna dose
14 days after the Janssen vaccine
15 days after your 2nd AstraZeneca dose

Notwithstanding the above, the advice of the HSE in each individual case should always be followed.

Clubs in the 6 Counties

In the 6 Counties, if you are a household contact of a positive case or are advised by the NI Contact Tracing Service or the STOPCOVID NI App that you are a close contact of a positive case of COVID-19 you still need to self-isolate. You will also be asked to book a COVID test within 48 hours of being identified as a close contact.

Full information for vaccinated people in the 6 Counties is available here.

As you are aware, and regardless of which jurisdiction you currently reside in, the situation with Covid-19 remains fluid and the advice from the respective Health Services may change from time to time. The advice of the respective contact tracing teams will always take precedence to what is outlined above and it is essential that individuals follow whatever advice they are given by the Health Services in this regard.
