St. Patricks and Glenealy met in the Senior Hurling League Final on a very wet evening on Aughrim with St. Pats coming out on top.
St. Pats started the strongest and built up a 6 point lead. Glenealy were then awarded a penalty which found the net, St. Pats 0-07 Glenealy 1-01. Pats replied with a goal 1 minute later. The first half finished St. Patricks 1-07 Glenealy 1-03.
Pats got their second goal in the opening minute of the second half. This was soon followed by their third goal and the lead was stretched 3-08 to 1-05. Glenealy then had four unanswered points. Glenealy finished with a goal and a point to reduce the gap to 3. The game finished St. Patricks 3-10 Glenealy 2-10.
The Dessie Murphy Cup was presented to St. Patricks Captains Eoghan O’ Mahoney and George O’ Brien by COunty Chairman Martin Fitzgerald and Mono Murphy.
